Within the framework of the government efforts to reactivate administrative decentralization in Lebanon, the Ministry of Interior and Municipalities and OMSAR realized the need for providing municipal elected figures and employees with the necessary skills and tools to promote the effectiveness of municipal work. H.E Minister of Interior and Municipalities asked for OMSAR’s contribution to the development of a study on the set up of a Center for Municipal Research and Rehabilitation. The Minister of State for Administrative Reform established a committee that was composed of experienced civil servants, university teachers and OMSAR staff in the summer of 2002 for this purpose. |
